The Biggest Little Theatre Company is seeking two energetic, creative, and responsible individuals to join our Summer Theatre Camp Team for an exciting 8-week summer position beginning July 6, 2026.
Job description
Successful candidates will help lead children through the creation and performance of mini musicals during four separate 2-week camp sessions. This is a hands-on creative leadership position where employees will gain experience in all aspects of theatre production and youth mentorship.
Team members will have opportunities to work as Directors, Choreographers, Vocal Directors, Prop Designers, Lighting Designers, and Sound Designers. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in theatre, education, music, creative activities, and daily camp operations.
Position Details
Full-time seasonal position
8-week contract
Monday to Friday
Start Date: July 6, 2026
Wage: $17.60/hour
Location: Blezard Valley, Ontario
Responsibilities
-Assist in directing and staging mini musicals
-Teach basic choreography and vocals
-Help with props, costumes, and technical theatre elements
-Support lighting and sound operation during performances
-Supervise and engage with children throughout camp activities
-Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive environment
-Collaborate with fellow staff to prepare weekly performances
Qualifications
-Interest or experience in theatre, music, dance, education, or working with youth
-Strong communication and teamwork skills
-Creative, organized, and enthusiastic
-Comfortable working with children in a group setting
-Ability to adapt and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
*Previous camp or theatre experience is considered an asset*
*Standard First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset*
*Ability to communicate in both English and French is an asset.*
